Arrival at BGW

Hand over Passports to Group leader; for completion of immigration and security procedures. Thereafter transfer to Hotel / Astana


SIM CARDS: On arrival at Baghdad Airport you can log into the free wifi facility (scope wifi) and notify your family members on your safe arrival. Sim cards will be arranged. Please do not waste time at the airport buying sim cards as they will be provided on arrival at Astana. Data only - 3gb per card .


CURRENCY : You are advised to use US dollars. Niaz money should be in US dollars. Upon arrival at the astana, 100 Dollars will be exchanged into Iraqi Dinars for you. A portion of this will be utilized to purchase your SIM card.


MEDICAL AID: Kindly inform your medical aid about your travels and ensure that you have a letter confirming your medical insurance. It is advised to keep a copy of your medical aid policy with you. Should you have TRAVEL INSURANCE, it usually includes MEDICAL COVER

Hotel: Check in approximately 2pm - thereafter proceed to the Mazaar of Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani Radiallahu Ta’al Anhu.

PLEASE NOTE RESTRICTIONS FOR LADIES AT KUFA, KARBALA AND NAJAF :

  • Black Plain loose fitting closed Abayas

  • No high bun in scarf

  • No make-up at all

  • Black socks ( no stockings)

Weather: It is autumn in Baghdad Sharif, approximately 28 degrees in the day and 13 degrees at night. Please bring along jerseys for evenings.

DRESS CODE: Women must be fully covered when entering the mazaars. Comfortable Slip on Sneakers /Takkies are recommended for Ziyarats

NIAZ: Niaz langar is made at the langar khana for distribution. Please make sure that only Niaz money is given for Langer. Zakaat can be given to the poor but please inform them that it is Zakaat as there are a lot of Sayeds and they are not allowed to take Zakaat. Please convert the Niaz money to Dollars.

ASTANA: No person will be allowed to enter the Astana rooms without a tag (tags will be given at the airport)
